Solving the Equal-I-Zer/LP Dilemna

With all of the Equal-I-Zers out there that were installed improperly....that is.....with the bottom bolt placed incorrectly UNDER the LP line instead of BETWEEN THE LP LINE AND THE FRAME.......here is a step-by-step to re-do what the installer didn't do correctly!

I had the opportunity last week to correct a member's install job and took some shots during the fix.

1. Here it is as the dealer installed it:

Part 2

Note how the bottom bolt from the bracket is UNDER the LP line.......VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!

Now, remove the bracket and you will notice 3 P-clamps wrapped around the LP line with rubber insulators. Drill all 3 out of their respective rivets (note, some might be screwed into the frame, some might be riveted and some might have a combination of both like this 19CCD had).

This will loosen the LP line and allow it to droop.

Part 3

Now, with the LP line free to move a little from the frame, re-install the Equal-i-Zer bracket in it's proper position.

It's also a good idea here to add a little heat shrink tape to the bottom bolt before sliding that bottom bolt into the bracket. ust a little cushioning for that LP line.

Part 4

Now, re-rivet/screw/fasten the LP line back where it was attached to the frame

if you don't have tape, a piece of rubber hose works nicely too!
