Smell Propane! Need to replace some parts. Your expertise requested!

Last outing I noticed a propane smell coming from the tanks. Everything is original to the AS. 1985. And assume it's probably time to replace a few things. The propane hoses are both very stiff and I'll bet should be replaced.

Where can I buy pigtail propane hose connectors? I see them on Amazon for around 10 bucks each and I assume the connections are universal so they should fit my current set up. I'm guessing then I just need to buy the correct length?

I hope this will eliminate the leaking propane ... but if not I'm thinking of replacing the automatic dual tank changeover lp propane regulator. Here's where I need your experience. I've spotted a few online and need one with the sight gauge. But which ones will work and what should I steer clear of?
This one looks like it will do the job: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KPR9Q30...J97D3ARKX9KRZK

Thanks, Mark

Mark, I think you are on the right track with your propane repairs / replacements. When I checked my '89 Excella pigtails with a soapy water spray - nearly the entire hose oozed bubbles / foam! With the correct length pigtails and, hopefully, a bolt on regulator replacement you will be back in business without the propane odor! The brass regulator fittings may need an adaptor to fit the new pigtails. Take all the pieces along to the hardware store if you find this to be the case. Also use proper thread sealer for propane.

I would recommend a leak test with soapy water from a spray bottle to identify the source of the leak. You could just have a loose or dirty fitting. I had the same problem on my 78 and found the regulator was leaking and had to be replaced. One source for propane parts is your local propane store that is certified to inspect and fill bottles.

+1 for the propane store. A good propane place will make you up hoses to any length with any appropriate fittings on each end.

ditto drboyd's suggestion. Costs a little more but I'll bet you get better quality in both fittings and hose

Soapy water and found the leak. The hose coming out of the bottom of the regulator! Going to try to locate a local propane place to see about a replacement. Thanks...
