The tree fits right on the tank. The hoses are Coleman, butI am sure plenty of other manufacturers have them. They then screw right into the same place that the little bottles do.
The propane hose from the A/S is already lo pressure so if you wanted to use that you would have to change the adaptor on your units. For me, it's on the wrong side anyway so I don't bother.
I use a 1/2 ton with a cap as the TV, so I just carry it there secured with a bungee cord.

Do any of you use the Airstream's propane tanks to fuel a portable grill? If so, what kind of hose and adapters do you need, and where do you purchase them?
Yes, I do:

Acme Extend-A-Stay Adapter - $46.99

Hoses are available in varying lengths from Camping World and others. I run two 15' hoses all the way to the rear of the AS under the awning.

The nice thing about the tree is when it is attached to the tank is is capable of two stove type devices on the barrel and a lantern on top.

Known problem in boating, don't store below, use a canvas bag hooked on a rail outside. Was refilling one of a half dozen last week and one showed up as a leaker by smell and then testing with soapy water, decided to let it leak down in the woods.
Original instructions if I remember right was not to use them indoors Last year I actually saw a recycle bin for propane bottles at a campground.

Mine has been in place on the bottle for 2 years.
Yes I do shut off the bottle while hooking up the hoses and grill regulator.
