Quality of Worthington Aluminum Tanks

Earlier this year I purchased two new Worthington aluminum tanks for our polished "78" Ambassador. Today I got the equipment out and polished one of the tanks. I am disappointed with the finished appearance. After polishing, there were many visible scratches, nicks, and marks on the tanks. They still look better now than they did before polishing but I was expecting better quality from Worthington. Not sure that a more aggressive polish would even take out the blemishes. Anyone run into similar issues and how did you address it? Thanks!

They don't handle the tanks with kid gloves, you have to sand and buff the surface smooth first, then polish.

They sell the best tanks on the market IMHO, but they are designed to stor and dispense propane safely, not necessarily look pretty.
