Propane Tank Cover

Looking for a propane tank cover. I have the aluminum 30gallon tanks on the front, and am looking for a tank cover to cover them up and to dress the front up. Is there anyone out there that have any information of where to find a cover used? Thanks. I do know that they seem to be only used on the Excella's, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't care my wife would like us to purchase one. Thanks.

Tim, I once found a nice used plastic cover at Northwoods RV in Mt. Morris, MI. It was a take-off (taken off another trailer for one reason or another) and was only $20. I put it on a '73 Tradewind I owned at the time. Their toll free number is 800-345-8807. I believe they have new ones for not a lot more.

Been there

I have searched tirelessly for one but that was about a year ago.
If you use search feature, you can find all of the info, I found on it.

Long story short, After searching many boneyards and contacts in AS circles, I ended up calling AS dealer and new one cost around 400 dollars.

I was actually going to make one, when I headed in different direction. You can make on for around 100 dollars.

Good piece of stainless or aluminum, wrap it around tanks and bend to uniformity, rivet the rear and make cover.
There are two styles for the AS, which you can also see on other aluminum trailers, Avion, Silverstreaks, etc..
The old style was more oval than square.

Old style below:

Propane Tank Covers

I called Sonny Hare in Alabama he is looking to see if he has one, I hope so I'm not very handy and making one seems to be out of the question. If not I might even end up forking over the four hundred dollars. Thanks for the input.

been there

I called him last year and at that time he said he had one that was considerably damaged.

Then when I called back to discuss the item, he said he did not have one, so................................

Maybe he has one by now.

Good luck,
Smily

Tim, I have a cover, it isn't in real good shape but not too bad either, as I recall someone had done some repair on the hinge, it is in the basement storage and my digital camera broke last week, but if you would like I can borrow a camera and take some pics of it. Wouldn't want much for it. We will be at the international in July. Marvin

Propane Tank Cover

I would be interested in the one you have, if you could post a pic and let me know how much for shipping and handling and price of cover that would be great. Thanks.
