Question Propane auxiliary connection

During our latest trip, I connected via the quick disconnect to our trailers propane tanks. Unfortunately, there was no gas directed to our grill. I tried both tanks, all tanks and still got nothing. The grill did work using the small propane bottles. Has anyone experienced this before? Do I bring it back for service(still under warranty)

Does your grill have a built in regulator? If it does then it will not work with the "low pressure" output of the Trailer. Basically you can only have 1 regulator in line, if you have 2 then the propane won't flow. Many grills can be adapter to remove their regulator....

Sorry for the short response, hope this helps.. If you post the details of your grill then we can help more.

I'm not sure so verify: It's my impression that you can position your quick disconnect BEFORE the trailer's regulator. In other words, between the trailer's tank and the trailer's regulator. This would then be a "high pressure" supply that the grille is looking for. As Gsmblue has indicated, two regulators (between the tank and the appliance) is one too many.

Important: Verify as I am not sure.

A problem I have seen is that the quick disconnect fittings are made in two varieties, low pressure and high pressure. I bought one from Camping World that was labelled and the valve was marked low pressure but it was in fact a high pressure fitting. If I remember correctly it mated with the low pressure fitting on my grill hose but the male fitting on the hose would not actuate the shutoff built into the female fitting I bought. I bought another fitting from a different source and it worked.

Thanks! I was originally hooked to a webber q1200 but then switched to a regular Coleman propane stove to avoid the second regulator, still no gas. There is no regulator on the stove.

Each quick connect has a shut off lever that locks the connector so it can't come apart when gas is flowing. Are you sure they were all in the locked position?
