New Flame in Oven (???)

Well, here I am - making some pot pies in the oven...it say preheat to 400. So, but a new sound happens---POOF! - then I look inside and to the right side and near the wall of the oven is another flame...burning right along with the pilot and burner. Can you see it in the photos? And what am I up against this time.

I did turn it off --let it cool off and then took a flash light and shined it back to the area that was flaming ....I have never noticed it doing that before either. But it was happening just to the left of that flat head screw you see.

it would help if you post a make and model number of the oven. i don't have knowledge to advise you but others here do.

I believe what you are seeing is the heater pilot. It ignites the oven burner tube.
I've watched the process in mine. On demand, the standing pilot ignites the larger heater pilot. There may another thermocouple, I don't recall. In 15 seconds or so the burner gas valve opens and whooosh.

Looks like its leaking a little back against the wall. It doesn't look good.

I will start asking around here in town about who can just actually stand there and see first hand whats going on. After a while it stops doing it...but still- it does not look right.

So far it looks like it needs a good cleaning..may be soot build up on the pilot area. OK - so if I want to clean these items...whats good for this? A toothbrush and some....
Or shold I load my compressor and bring an air hose inside with a blower fixture ? The pilot light itself burns bright yellow mostly and that is when the oven temp has been set. When it is not in use - it burns blue.

Well upon looking closer at this oven, The name on the front is 'AIRSTREAM custom'. I did not find any serial numbers near the door (not unless it was against the wall). But this time I took this photo- and drew a circle around where the flame was coming and going whenever it wanted to. You can almost see the scorch from the flame.

I think Ricky is right. That is not normal IMO. I think you have a cracked gas line. I would not use it and turn off the pilot until that section of line can be examined on the bench and replaced.

Cracked manifold.

I concur with Rich. Looks like the manifold is cracked and should be repaired/replaced before using.

I would take the stove to an LP gas distributor and have them check it out.
