Mystery LP Gas Leak Solved

Had a gas leak which I could not find. Tried soaping up every connection but no luck. Finally, in desperation I turned to the stove which is the original (Preway) to my 54 Safari. Stove always worked well, however, I discovered that I could sometimes light the pilot light even tho the gas was turned off at the tank! I removed the oven knob which is the main control and squirted electronic cleaned down the shaft, working the knob in and out and back and forth many times. Did this over the course of several days. Magic, no more leak! Seems the valve wasn't always shutting off every time due to the heavy build up of old cooking goo.

Thanks for sharing.. You are fortunate to have found it this way rather than through the inadvertent match test, though it sounds like you were determined to find it before using trailer on a trip again...

Probably good to remind everyone that ANY gas smell inside the trailer needs to be found using any method available other than flames and only when door/windows open and interior fully ventilated.. An interior leak is not to be ignored...
