LP lamp mantles

I have a Humphrey / Paulin propane lamp. It uses the L13-6 tie on mantle. They break a lot due to vibration. Can I use Coleman lantern mantles? They are readily available while traveling.

If they fit, go for it! Do a google search for gas lights. I seem to remember a sight that had some heavy duty mantles for indoor fixtures somewhere on the net.

Walter1, I use, I mean used Coleman mantels in my SOB. It had a Humphrey gas light. They worked fine. Never had a problem with them breaking/falling apart.

walter1,
You might find some of the Coleman mantels at your favorite Wally's world to have metal clips in the top seams..Just remove that and, slip/tie the mantel over the Humphrey's opening..It worked for me.

YES. Check out post # 118 on the "new challenge" thread.

Thanks, I'll try them, any way to keep them from breaking in transit?

Also the globe has been known to come off. Any way to keep that set screw tight?

Coleman doesn't seem to be as fragile as the originals, I will let you know how long the one I installed yesterday lasts.
Try some blue LockTite on the threads of the set screw.
DON"T USE RED. It will NEVER come off.
