LP gas detector beeping

Our LP gas detector is beeping. It is blinking green, showing it has power, and there seems to be no problem with the batteries. This is the third time this has happened to us. I think they replaced the unit before (not sure). How can we fix this? Can we replace it ourselves? What makes it happen?

Not trying to come off as a smart a$$, but I'm reminded of an old high school shop instructor who's favorite saying was..."If all else fails, read the instructions!"

If you don't have the Mfg's booklet with your trailer stuff, you should be able to find the info on the Net - check the Make, model, etc. - they should have notes about your particular salutation...

If it's defective, it's not that big of a deal to replace it yourself...

Welcome to the forums! You're in the right place for all things Airstream!

You might try holding down the button for a bit...ours goes off periodically and that resets it. Part of the problem in the 19' Bambis is its location — right next to the furnace vent...that can be a good thing or a bad thing.

If you check the manual or the back of your LP detector, you will see that EVERY LP detector SHOULD BE REPLACED AFTER 5 YEARS! The reason being that the sensors loose their sensitivity and do strange things, like go off for no reason, or not at all.

I would suggest after verifying the 12VDC circuit, I would get yourself a new LP detector.

Lew, once again, you've solved a problem for me. As always, thanks for the advice.
