If tight bends need to be made and the piece of tube is removeable when bent, filling it w/ fine sand and taping the ends over w/ duct tape will support the tube during the bending process.

Or you can get spring benders that go over the tube to prevent linking when you bend it tight.

I am an extreme novice ( or was) when I installed my water heater replacement. It required some serious tube bending - almost 90 deg at about a 2" or 3" diameter. Spring benders saved my bacon- takes patients tho!
