Keep the propane heater or change it out?

I am starting the renovation of my 1958 Caravanner and have a question about how wise it is to keep the old air heater. All of the appliances in the airstream work and the Barnes 'Fresh Air Heater ' looks to be lightly used and I am wondering about whether I should attempt to renovate it or get something new. I like the way it fits unobtrusively under the stove and has a single vent out the side of the trailer and a vent at floor level. I have read other threads that say if the unit can be fixed it actually may be better than new heaters. Any experience out there with this heater?

I am planning to change out the hot water heater though.

Dunno, I was wondering the same about my furnace, it's the original one. But while some parts are still available, I got to thinking what I would do if I had a 35 year old furnace in my house.

The answer? Change it out and fast. The water heater will be after that.

Hi, old doesn't necessarily mean bad. The furnace in my house is about 57 years old. In your trailer, I would remove it, and take it apart. If all is well, re-install it. If not replace it.
