Andy I have a 1982 Excella (made in Dec. 81) it has a 5/8 inch propane line from the regulator back to the coach. I need the 18 inch 5/8 hose from the regulator to the copper line. It has a 1/2 inch pipe thread that screws into the regulator and a 5/8 inch female flare that ties to the copper line via a 5/8 male to male adapter. I can't find one anywhere!

I called today but never got a call back. I guess I can try again in the AM. 5/8 is a odd size for some reason most people carry 1/2 then go to 3/4. It would be great if someone would put together a kit with all the rubber propane hoses for an Airstream by year model I would buy one.

I had one special built by a local hose company. It wasn't cheap. I think it cost about $20.

I live in a small town so all I could try was Lowes and the local propane companies (2). Asheville is about 50 miles I may have to try it out. Most of the time I get my parts off the internet, no gas to burn and it comes right to your door.

I got mine through the local propane supplier. The hose company doesn't do retail. I paid the propane supplier, he ordered it, I drove over and picked it up the next day.

I would definitely talk to your local propane supplier. You could spend all day driving around Asheville and still strike out.

Why not just reduce the line to 1/2. The 5/8 to 1/2 fittings can be found. I started to do that with mine last year. We have a solid 5/8 copper tube where you have a flex line. I ended up not changing it out - just put new fittings on the upper end. If you can't find the 5/8 fittings let me know - I have some laying in the truck and could find you some more I'm sure. There's an old line RV dealer here that still has the stuff. That said, I'm not sure if there is some real need for the short line to be 5/8ths..

I went back to my propane dealer and he came up with this fix. A stainless line.

The hose pictured above will not work. Inland RV called and said it had to be rubber to meet code. So I am back at square one and out 25 bucks for a hose I can't use. Inland said that 3/8 was big aplenty for a pigtail. So I am looking around the plant where I work to see what I can find. Seems like a poor boy always has a hard time!

If that's a rubber hose, why not go to a shop with your old hose, and have them put a new hose on the fittings? It will probably cost you all of $10 or so to do...
