We always travel with the gas so the fridge keeps everything cold. Almost always turn off the propane tanks when we fuel the TV, as per instructions in the AS manual. Usually, but not always, the fridge automatically starts itself again (I would say 95% of the time), so I am in the habit of checking to make sure it does restart.
We took the Texas DOT ferry from the Bolivar Peninsula to Galveston and had to turn off the propane. Once we got to Galveston, I turned the gas back on at a stop light and we headed for Houston in 100 degree weather. Once we stopped (in a couple hours), I went to check on the fridge and it had not automatically restarted but everything was cold and/or frozen, as appropriate. I wouldn't want to go all day without the fridge being on.
