gas lines attached to bottom skin

are the gas lines supposed to be attached to the bottom of the trailer skin?
mine are but looks like they've been reworked before.

i saw a modern airstream and they were on the exterior of the skin underneath but thought maybe to protect them they should be on the exterior.

The gas lines running underneath your trailer should be on the outside of the bellypan skin. If any of those lines have leaks, this allows the gas to escape to the open air rather than accumulating in the spaces between the underside of your trailer's floor and the upper side of the bellypan where it would create a greater fire hazard.

Propane is heavier than air, you want the lines to to be exposed in case of a leak. They have put them putting on the underside of the belly skins for over 40 years.
