Gas line protection
I know this was covered a couple of years ago, but has anyone had any experience with spiral hose wrap
What other options have you used for protecting 3/8" and 1/2" copper tubing

Mine is almost 40 years old and has traveled tens of thousands of miles and hasn't needed protecting...
I need to replace some valves due to corroding but other than that the line is fine and pretty well protected by mounted tight to the bell pan.

Wahoonc, we are setting up a high ground clearance unit
Trying to avoid issues like bottoming out in a dip and also we want to get a little further off the beaten path, so I thought to try and keep holes out of gas lines.

The instructions for my water heater called for a 3/4" line, so I ran black pipe.
Raised my trailer up 3" too, this really helps to minimize the donkey drag.

I would recommend the black pipe as well for durability.

J.Morgan, what do you mean by "donkey drag?"
Thanks, Bob

Dragging the rear end of the trailer through a deep dip or steep driveway.

Thanks for the recommendations, but I already bought and started to install the copper tubing, wanted to run lines thru floor before installing cabinets. The spiral wrap is expensive, was looking for a cheaper alternative.

If you are talking about the propane lines, I wrapped them with vinyl tubing. It is available at any big box store selling hardware. I split it along one side and clamped it on with hose clamps. There are also clamps holding the copper and I loosened those to hold the vinyl too. If anything hits the copper pipe, I hope the vinyl will absorb and spread the force.
