Gas Bottle hold down bracket.. w/regulator or not

Ready to get a propane bottle hold down bracket. at ORMRV they have two types.. with a place to hold a regulator and without a place to hold the regulator.

If you have the one without the thing to hold the regulator, does the regulator just hang down?

Why would one choose a hold down that you don't attach the regulator to?

The regulator comes with a bracket that attaches to the hold down clamp.
I have a hold down bracket with it's own bracket (came with AS) but don't use it - I use the bracket that came with the regular - fits better and I can see the red/green on the auto regular better.

Our '74 has the regulator on a bracket which is attached to the AS just below the window. It is covered by a flip-up plastic hood.

Sorry, I thought I had a photo, but I don't.
