Fresh Water Tank

Restored a 1972 Airstream. What is the best way to clean a fresh water tank? It has black stuff in it.... Is it better to buy a new one. If so, where?

Thanks!

Cleaning the tank is an option if it's not cracked. So, before you go to all the trouble of cleaning it; do a good inspection.
The tank drops out from under the trailer. There is a heavy duty peice of plywood that holds it up. Make plans to replace this if it is not new.
After the tank is out you will need some help. Put in about one gallon of sand and about four gallons of water. Now shake or vibrate the tank until it is clean. That's it

You should be able to find your answers in the Fresh Water Systems Subforum... There are several threads there about sanitizing fresh water tanks... Here's one.

Good luck!
