Does anybody have a single propane tank setup? Pics?
In the original ad for my 1958 flying cloud, it has a single tank setup. The current setup is a dual tank rack. I have never needed to use my second tank on my globetrotter, which gets me thinking. I kind of like the simplicity of a single tank.
Anybody have pictures of your single tank setup?

I am installing that single tank set up this week...on the Curtis. Somewhere in the forums I had asked the same question and received some great answers. The problem rotates around fastening the tank and the regulator. Its a work in progress...let me know if you have some ideas too.

I know this thread is very old, but am contemplating the same on my 55 FC. Anyone come up with a good solution? Need a way to secure bottle. Also wondering if my dual regulator will function with one line capped?

As promised. The black powder coated bracket was purchase on Amazon.com. They come as a pair, they are advertised as propane mounts for a forklift. The rest was fabrecated by a good friend. We used scrap steel and aluminum plate. Total time 3 hours. Tools used were a welder, band saw, grinder, drill, and a plasma cutter. Most DIYers won't have all of these tools but you get the idea. Unfortunately me ipad can only add one picture at a time so I'll have a few posts.

A closer picture. Like I said we just did this. I'll be cleaning it up and painting in a couple of weeks.

While we were at it we incorporated a under frame spare tire mount. I don't know if I'll us it but it only required drilling one additional hole in the angle iron before welding the upright channel to it. Welded a nut on a piece of 1/2" thread all and drilled a small piece of channel.

Last picture from the underside. The aluminum plate will get trimmed out with some 1/2" door edge molding I found. I placed the rod for the spare to hopefully make sense of how it'll work. Lastly if you felt the need to lock up your PP tank you could easily drill the tank "foot" to lock it underneath...... out of sight. Hope this helps someone.

Yay for the updates on this thread! I am planning to go to a single vertical tank as a winter project, and I was about to ask "how" until I found this thread. Thanks for the great pics and descriptions.

Any others with a single-tank setup? Ideas on how to build one or sources for materials?
