Cut and mend or replace entirely?

I am putting new axles on a 1967 ambassador and realized that I am going have either cut and mend the original copper propane line that runs under it or completely replace the copper lines altogether. Any recommendations out there? Is the old copper kosher or should I replace with new copper or some type of flex tubing?

No to flex tubing.
It depends on the amount of damage to the existing lines.
If it is what I discovered on our trailer. The damage was only in the tongue area. Where it was damaged by someone using a jack.
I found it satisfactory to replace the damaged section. And much less expensive.

Cut and mend - replace damaged section with new tubing and flared connections. If you have the equipment & skill, NFPA 58 (propane fire code) permits silver brazed connections w/ melting points over 1000F; this can be simpler than flaring in some cases.

All splices must be outside trailer; shutoff valves that are not part of the
appliance in question must be outside the trailer as well.

Modern practice requires double flares, but older trailers don't have these and seem safe enough .
