Cooktop exhaust vent cover...

Greetings.

I am sure I am the last to know this, but on my new 04 bambi, there is a shroud for the stove/oven exhaust on the street-side. In this shroud has a horizontal flap that covers the exhaust opening when not in use, to keep bugs, drafts, and crap out. I also noticed two little lever things that will lock that flap in it's close position, most likely for storage.

So if your hood vent is not venting well, it just might be the flap is in store mode.

Red face Yup

We used ours for the entire shakedown trip before it was noticed that the vent wasn't too "venting". We now have "open the little locks" after we set up and "close them" before moving on our check lists. The flap does keep the vent pretty plugged up, so you'll notice a big difference in draft with it open.
The smoke detector still does go off about every use of the stove top, so I am getting much quicker at hitting it's " be still, but chirp once in a while" button.

Well, glad to know that this discovery was made later by others...... It took about 3,500 miles of trips until the tabs were discovered in our case.

My latest "discovery" is/was when someone told me the table in front of the couch (we have the couch option--no dinette) can slide closer to the couch for eating.......

Are these little pieces of info in the instruction book? I haven't got around to reading that yet; it has only been 2 years.

When I finish reading War and Piece, I'll start plowing through the mountain of manuels and stuff.
