Bowen Hot Water Heater

Hi, we have a Bowen hot water heater for our 63 Bambi and the burner, thermo and pilot is not working very well, Any suggestions on what to do or does anyone have a working replacement they would sell? It's a 110, 10 gal. It's always good to ask someone that might have done it before. Thanks.

If there is a housing around the old hot water tank save it and the original access door that connects to it. My husband was able to put the new hot water tank into the old Bowen housing and use the original access door.It required some tinkering, but it worked. We replaced a Bowen 6 Gallon with an Atwood 6 Gallon, in an Avion.

If by not working very well, you mean that it keeps going out, I would suspect the thermocouple is going bad. That is the little probe that hovers over the pilot flame and shuts off the gas when it gets cold. This is easy to replace with a universal one from a big box home improvement store.

Its also possible that your LP regulator is going bad so you don't have adequate gas pressure to give you a strong pilot flame.
