Angry Black water Dump valve Cautions

I have a 75 Argosy 22ft. and have used it fro many years and to this date. One of the problems is the sealing of the Black Water Dump valve. Firstly DO NOT LET THE VALVE DRY OUT WHEN STORING IT. Always put a little mineral oil and or water in the toilet and holding tank.

I have taken the valve apart several times and put new seals in the holder. To do this it is imperative to clean the toilet and piping thoroghly. I fill with water and bleach several times, before working on it.

Use gloves and a face shield. I didn't one time ,and though I cleaned and bleached the system, a couple of drops of liquid dripped on my face while lying under the system. I washed my hands ,neck and face , but soon there after I developed a growth on my eyebrows and nose. I went to a dermatologist and he said he didn't know what it was.

I put some creams and many things on it and all I can do is control it ,but I cannot get rid of it.
It irritates my face and I caution you against this. so Let it be known that you have been warned.

Chemical Burn

Suppose that could be a chemical burn from the bleach? If it won't go away I would call a person that works with sewers and sewer chemicals frequently and see if it is an occupational hazard. From my own experience I know that photographers get what is called contact dermatitis from contact with photo chemicals and I have developed a sensitivity to certain spray paints and solvents having been exposed to it over the years.
good luck, bill b.

Welcome to the forums. I've never heard a report like this - but it sort of makes sense. Strange stuff grows in sewage.

Many years ago I got a parasitic infection (on my skin) in South America. It was hard to diagnose and even harder to get rid of. Have you considered finding another opinion? I would head straight for the biggest teaching hospital I could find and then be very stubborn about needing some answers.

Strange Skin Conditions

I am reminded of when I returned from a year, at government expense, in Thailand. I developed a lesion on the back of my hand. The college clinic Doctor said he had never seen anything like it and sent me down the road to Houston to "the" giant teaching hospital. The specialist there said it was the most perfectly formed example of a cat scratch fungus.(from our new kitten) He even took photos of it for teaching purposes. Easy cure with a simple cream. I never was really sure if the college doc sent me on a wild goose chase, for fun, or if he was really that unaware.

cheers, bill b.

Ever notice how everything reminds older people(the chronologically challenged) of a story?
