How do you guys 'feed' your gas BBQ? Tap into the main tanks or do you have a smaller portable tank.

If you tap in how did u do it?
If you are with a portable tank how and where do you store it?

We have an adapter hose that connects to the grill from a larger tank. If we want, we can leave that off, and use the little disposable cans.

Hi, I have a nice portable, stainless steel, propane fueled Barbeque. [I use the little green cans] I took it on one trip and now I only use it at home. After using it once, it smells, and it has to ride in our trailer or inside of our SUV. Also I like to keep it clean and I can't do a good job cleaning my barbeque while on the road; I need to clean it at home. Might consider it if I towed with an open bed pick-up truck. [My opinion and experience]

I have gone both ways. I have a hose to adapt the small BBQ from the 1 pound disposables to refillables. I either take along an extra 10 pounder on the A frame or temporarily take one of my tanks off to run it at the picnic table. If I am taking along the big Unit grill or the turkey fryers, I sometimes take along an extra 20 pounder which I carry in a 4 gallon plastic milk rack, which prevents it from tipping over in the back of the truck

I also carry a 20 pound tank in a plastic milk rack. Works great. I use a Coleman Roadtrip and carry it in the bed of the truck along with the LP tank.

I added an extra hose off the regulator on the Airstream tanks and run my BBQ or generator with that.

I have a small aluminum tank that fits inside one of those orange homer buckets for my propane grill. I can use it for the propane BBQ cabinet as well.

We use the little cans. It's just easier.

Thanks folks, after reading up more on the dealing with a T of the main tanks it seems easier to get a little 10lb tank and go that route. And it's more flexible than that 12ft hose...I have a truck I tow with so I guess that's the best place to put the tank and grill. I have a Coleman roadtrip, so that thing is to big to be stored in any of the compartments.
