Bad regulator or not?

Trying to field test camper for propane leaks. Propane in tanks. Turned on stovetop burners and left on to purge of air. No gas. Checked supply lines and valves open. Do I loosen the line right below the regulator to see if propane is coming through the regulator? Or is there some other way to check the operation of the regulator? 1978/28' Ambassador. Not used in 8 years. Fisher regulator. I assume original equipment. Thanks. Jack

Turn both tanks on.

Very crefully open one pigtail. See if the gas flows.

That still doesn't tell you what the LPG pressure is at the appliances. It should be 11 to 13 inches of water column pressure. It's best at about 12.5 inches.

My 75 has a valve in the stove to turn the gas supply on and off. You get to it by lifting the top of the stove.

I have done that. I had a regulator fail while camping everything was working and then nothing.

Did you check the on/off under the trailer and the one under the stove top?

Went to Lowes and bought one and everything still works that was 3 years ago.
They looked the same bolted right up and since everything works I figured it must be OK.
