Have you tried the factory?

I don't believe they were standard on 76's (could be wrong) but the new ones might be adaptable.

Metal LPG bottles covers are available thru an Airstream dealer, that fit most any Airstream trailer.

What size bottles do you have?

I don't need the bottles but may be interested in the cover. Send me an email or PM if you want to sell just the cover with a picture if available.

Thanks Don

I have a white Argosy

I am deciding whether to go with a plastic white ( sob type) bottle cover,
or the AS aluminum cover. I wonder how much the aluminum cover
weighs as opposed to the plastic cover.
I have sunglasses on already, and some more aluminum might tie together
the "look".

Last time I checked, the aluminum cover was a little less weight than the plastic cover.

In either case, not enough to be concerned about.

But, the aluminum covers, cost a lot more.

However, the aluminum covers look far better than the plastic versions.

Now having seen several vintage units with the aluminum tanks brightly shined - I'd say that's also a classy option - but not inexpensive!

Just wondering...is it necessary to cover the propane tanks? My AS came with a cheap vinyl coated material (fabric) that eventually disintegrated.

I was going to replace it, but Camping Word was out of them when we visited. Never did get around to replacing it. My camper sits in the open and so the tanks are constantly exposed to the elements (sun, rain, hail and snow).

The post you're replying to was made 5 years ago, so it's likely they're already long gone.

Bringing this thread back from the dead.
Does anyone know where to acquire the top to the aluminum propane bottle cover? I am looking at 2007 Safari that is missing the cover top.
