8-gal gasoline tank in LP tank profile for genset

Has anyone seen or tried this product from Transfer Flow? The link: OEM Fuel Tanks (near bottom of page) shows an 8-gallon gasoline tank to be used as a transfer tank system to a gasoline powered generator on an RV. The website says it complies to NFPA-1192 standard.

The tank is intended to take the place of a standard vertical propane tank and be mounted on a trailer's existing tank holder. It doesn't say what size- 20 or 30lb.

I've requested more information on this from the company and will post what I receive from them.

Maybe this thread should be posted in the forum section for generators?

I've been to their place in Chico, Ca.
First class place.
That tank is a great idea!!
Only problem I see is that some idiot may try to transfer the gas into a real propane tank.lol ( just thinking about the other thread - transferring propane)

My guess is that they are the same as 30 pound tanks. Be aware that they may not be exactly the same size. There is a height difference between steel and aluminum tanks as well.

It is an interesting concept. In my opinion, a better solution would be to convert your generator to propane and use the existing tanks.

Propane tank into gas tank.

Hi, I was thinking the same thing, but I was going to buy a new propane tank and an automotive filler neck and have a professional welder put it together. I like this, but I think it is a little pricey.

I'm with you BOB! Seems like you could just unscrew the opd valve, modify it to vent, and use a oaklahoma credit card to transfer fuel. There's been times where a few extra gallons for the Burb would be nice.

Tim, put down the gas tank, and step away from the trailer!...
