'64 Globetrotter black tank removal

I have a leaky original black water tank that I would like to replace. When taking off the straps that hold it up from the bottom, the tank it is still being held up from the top. Do I just remove the toilet? Or, am I missing something. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Broox

I would recommend removing the toilet to ensure there is no binding in the seal to the black tank.

My 66 didn't have any straps. It was held up by the steel tank cover and insulation. You can see the toilet flange attached to the black tank.

Others will soon post their experiences with the 64 model years.

We removed our black tank on our (former) '64 GlobeTrotter and the toilet does have to be removed, it "sandwiches" the plywood and helps hold the tank in place. For pics of ours, check out my "Maxwell gets a little TLC" thread.

Ours also had a metal pan holding it place, which we replaced with a new pan.
