22FB Sport propane storage capacity upgrade?
Hello, I am new to the forum.
We are thinking about purchasing the sport 22, 2013 model but I wanted to know if I can put two 30lb propane bottles under the cover where the 20lb LP bottles normally fit?
The 30lb LP bottles are the same diameter but they are taller. I am planning on super extended boondocks trips and need the extra propane.
Thanks in advance

I don't know why not. You may have to extend the rubber line, the hold down bracket, and your cover won't go all the way down probably, but there is no mechanical or safety reason not to, if the mods are done correctly.

You can replace the twin 20's with twin 30's, but you will need to purchase a longer threaded rod for the hold down, and as has been indicated, you might need a longer feed hose. The covers are for 20# tanks, you may need to get a cover for the 30# ones.

The tanks on the Sport models are steel. In fact, most, if not all of the tanks are now steel.

Just as a follow up for you guys.
The 30 pound tanks fit just fine without having to get a different cover.
However, I did have to modify the fuel line hose length to get it to reach. Also, the bracket that holds the tank in place wasn't long enough so I had to get a different bracket.
Thanks for the replies.

The LP usually isn't the problem for extended stays. It is the water capacity that usually runs short. It is nice that the manufacturers made the 20# LP tank base the same as the 30#, etc. It makes swapping them out real easy.
