2019 Globetrotter no hot water

I purchased my 2019 25FT Globetrotter in late January of ‘19. Been living in it full time for almost two weeks. I woke up yesterday with no hot water for my shower. Propane tanks are full. I have tried electric the propane then both together. Still nothing. My water heater red light is not on either. My water heater isn’t igniting.
Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like the Atwood water heater control board may be toast.

Hot Water electric boards

Why in the HELL is Airstream Management still sendind our these damn Chinese defective boards! I am on my fourth board and finally no further problems but they should long ago have this problem resolved. Mine was this new 2018. Maybe we do need a class action lawsuit to get their heads out if their behinds!!!!
This really pissses me off to hear about this constant reoccurring problems.

Yup. It happens from time to time. There is probably 10,000+ little bits that make up an airstream, sometimes one or two need to be replaced [emoji4]

Glad you worked it out. It takes only about 60 seconds to swap out the board for a new one.

Airstream rely on a number of key partners and suppliers to put their products together. Dometic, Atwood, dexter, Samsung, Goodyear, Ultrafabrics, DuPont, etc etc...

Atwood is a leading provider of water heaters and they produce descent products for a number of RV manufacturers. Every organization tries to balance cost, quality, throughout, serviceability, etc.. airstream cannot be faulted for an Atwood problem. If airstream sourced the very top of everything into the trailers prices would be 3-5X more and they would be addressing a different market. It’s a tricky balancing act no doubt.

If you want absolutely zero compromises then you buy a 100% bespoke commissioned RV from a company like timeless travel trailers or Prevost. But even those paths have their issues.... just my $0.02 [emoji4]

For me it was easier and more cost effective to order and install a $130 Dinosaur board then to tow the trailer to the dealer for a warranty replacement Atwood board that would likely also fail at a future inopportune moment.

+1

There are enough reports for me of these boards going bad that I preemptively ordered a replacement Dino board before even taking delivery of my trailer. It's peace-of-mind for me and I will hopefully be out enjoying my trailer rather than dealing with warranty and service hassles.

More likely I'll just be wrangling the kids while trying to fix other things .

16 hours the replacement board worked

Airstream overnighted a replacement Atwood board. The replacement worked for 12-16 hours. That’s it. Then by the time I found out Airstream customer service was closed. This is no bueno.

When it happened to me, I contacted CoachNet. Rather than futz with a dealer, they arranged for a Dometic/Atwood certified mobile tech, who came and replaced the board. CoachNet membership paid for itself right then. Afterwards I ordered a spare from Amazon.
