Winter (2013) IBT

Does anyone have any information on the Winter IBT (motions, schedule, etc)? I do not see anything newer than the previous IBT on the website. Is it going to be broadcast?

Reports and motions are due at the end of this week. But yes the information will be on the website as soon as it's available. And it will be broadcast as usual.

We are planning to attend both. Our first trip south with the Airstream. We will also attend the Rose Parade Rally so we will be hanging around So Ca for a few weeks. Any recommendations on RV parks.

The agenda for the Winter IBT has been email to unit Presidents and is now on the clubs website for download.

Damon, I tried the link for the motions and am getting an error. Moved up a step to General Info and Forms, and that page comes up just fine. (And there's nothing on that page about motions at the mid-winter.)

Teresa,

Looking forward to meeting you. What do you plan on seeing while you are here? That will help with recommendations.

Having issues with our hosting provider, waiting on them to get the issues resolved.

What error where you getting? I believe it was due to the host provider issues, as I just used the link and was able to download the pdf of the agenda.

If you use the menu on the website, go to Club Information, IBT and click on 'IBT' part of the menu, don't click on the meeting archives.

Well south of San Diego is the Chula Vista RV resort. Nice place. Right on the bay and harbor. You would go north for the zoo and sea world. Also campland by the bay is north of San Diego. Nice place but a bit pricier. I think I would pick Chula Vista over the other. See you at hobo. Remember your flamingos. Also save your large coffee can for the stew. I'm not kidding. A large coffee can will be needed for Saturday nights dinner. No can, no stew.

We are leaving for Chula Vista RV Resort tomorrow morning. It will be our first time there and are looking forward to a relaxing week on Coronado Bay. We have stayed at Campland on Mission Bay, pricy but kid friendly. One of our favorite spots is San Mateo Campground in San Clemente just north of San Diego. Water and electric but no sewer hookup at the sites (but does have a dump station on site).

Looks like they already have 14 motions to take up. Some are pretty weighty, but no Motor home proposal. The changing of the fiscal year to be the calendar year would end up with two presidents sharing the responsible for a each year. Allowing the MAL to individually register their votes at Jackson Center would give them a voice without having to redo the Constitution. Abandoning the winter IBT would save $30,000. Allowing for Internet or electronic IBT meetings, with only a 10 day notice, will allow the IBT to become more responsive, but might hide some of the details of what goes on from the common members. We will have to see what other motions are brought up and how many get passed.

THe problem with the MAL idea is that many proposals are amended before a vote is taken. So if a proposal is amended, how does one count the MAL vote?

Send a message via Skype™ to Buttercup
We now have the Mid-Winter Schedule published on WBCCI.org. As soon as we get any audio from the meetings we will post those as well.

The MAL voting proposal is not a perfect solution to the MAL issue. The proposal could also offer the possibility of a MAL attending the delegates' meeting being allowed to vote directly at the meeting, but that could take a lot of time on a roll call vote. I think the motion, as now put forward, is a step in the right direction. It is better that completely eliminating the delegates' meeting and open meeting discussion, as proposed in the rewritten constitution that was proposed, and defeated, last year. That revised constitution would have eliminated any possibility of any amendments from the general membership. It would have locked everyone into a simple (internet or otherwise)yes or no vote on any proposes put forward by the IBT. I feel that, If the Revised Constitution would have passed, the IBT would have uncontested control of the roost. I think, they could have proposed and passed amendments eliminating Wally's name from the organization and brought Thor motor homes in without organized opposition. Similar to what the IBT has proposed in the past, but soundly defeated by the membership, under the current Delegate meeting structure.

Sorry I haven't commented from my post, thanks for the information. We have been in & out of Internet service (at&t) since we left Seaside. We headed down 101 in the rain, did I say RAIN all the way to Ukiah. Looking for Sun. Chula vista sounds like a great place, I'll check for availability.
