I am relatively new to this organization (within the last year), so I do not know the proper procedures (my bad), but as a 21st Century Argosy owner and a member of Region 1, I would be honored to either nominate you or to second your nomination for VP of Region 1.

The politics of organization will destroy the organization. Renewed leadership revitalizes. People who are in charge for too long manipulate an organization to a point of personal gratification, loosing site of the group.

The type of thinking and logic that has forced the membership of WBCCI through two club ruining oportunities (name change, MOHO) has to be changed. I am sure there are IBT members who are thinking right now, the third time is a charm. As our regions get ready for nominations for the next years Region Officers, please help promote your canidate who you feel will best serve the MEMBERS for the years ahead.

Thank you!
Rick, can you tell us the specifics of what the Region Officer does both for their region units and as a representative on the IBT? What is expected of them and what the return is to serve in that capacity?

Thanking you in advance.
Kristine

Yes, I have noticed this with other organizations too. Power can be intoxicating for some folks.

The number of units that are "progressive" seems to be increasing quickly....so even though the overall membership numbers may be declining at the moment, they may rebound with a new generation of membership.

This is my dream Chuck! New and old WBCCI members, with new and old rigs enjoying time together, just having fun! I hope this will come to be. I want to be part of and enjoy this club for all of my trailering years. I (we, the NEU) want the WBCCI to succeed and grow. I want to be able to go on long distance caravans, I want to be able to serve as a region, maybe even interrnational officer (but we will not travel around in a MH, our 93 25' Excella is just fine).

Great thought. Go for it! Make it happen. Drag the rest of us along.

Well, to go back on topic for a moment. I waited until I found out weather the MOHO issue passed or not before I renewed. Yesterday, I mailed my dues in to renew our membership. I'm glad I didn't have to mail a letter telling why I wasn't renewing after just one year of membership. I sincerely hope that the IBT has run out of controversial issues...But I'm sure they haven't. Maybe they will just take a while to think of any new ones.

It would be so nice if the membership committee would do some research with the new members and find out what it would take to keep them rather than just concentrating on signing up a new wave of first timers. New folks yes, but keep them once you get them. That is the answer to declining membership. Not just keeping the old guard happy, make the newbies happy, too.

Darned, I didn't mean to get on a soap box. We've done that enough on this thread already.
