Sugarfoot and Brad,

Thought you'd like to know, that's not just any pith helmet. It was Wally's. Airstream history on Airstream history. Kinda neat.

I have known all along that was Wally's pith helmet. I've tried it on once. Didn't fit too well.

Right... and as I here the story, it was probably too big.

Having joined the group in Jackson Center, I can say we are having an unbelievable time. What a great way to get to know folks. The kids always seem to hit it off right from the start... and dealing with all the issues along the way brings us adults together in ways one would not normally experience.

Tomorrow morning is the caravan/parade into Madison... then we'll get to meet up with more friends and friends to be.

We had a great Caravan in, it was so nice to meet new friends, and see old ones again! Frank and Rob both did a great job to make sure that this caravan went smooth! Thanks again everyone!

Trip complete here as well

Well, we made it home at 530pm last night.. what a trip. Left on the 22nd of June and returned on the 5th of July.... around 3000 miles on the Suburban (it rolled over 100k miles about 3 miles from home)... house to Covington, Pa to Pittsburgh, Pa (about 10 miles from the Airport - again - THANKS Roy), to Jackson Center, Oh to Peru, Ind to Elkhart, Ind to Jefferson, Wi by way of LaSalle, Ill to Madison, Wi to Waubasha, Wi to Green Bay, Wi to Houghton (Atlantic Mine), Mi to Marquette, Mi to Omer, Mi to Sandusky, Oh to Jamestown, NY and finally home via some of the finger lakes going through Hammondsport, Watkins Glen, Ithaca to home... wow! What a trip... memories to last a lifetime.... It was hot until Madison, then perfect traveling weather after that... gas ranged around $2.75 for the 93 octane (the 84 likes the rich stuff) and the kids survived. Next year I'm planning a Niagara Falls to Albany Caravan with stops at Letchworth State Park, Watkins Glen State Park, Taughhannock State Park, Glimmerglass State Park ending up in Albany via Howe's Caverns. Who's with me! Each stop will be two nights with one night at the start and end points. Planning starts now!!

Take care everyone...

These are my favorite photos when I paraded downtown since the VAC did not on my way out of Madison

Rob, we're with you for next year! But I think it should include a stop at Bakers Mountain camp for a few nights.

It Just Gets Better

Thanks to Frank and Rob and all of the trekies to Madison from Pittsburgh. The friendships, the sights, the food and the Airstreams. Memories are made of this.

I am grateful to everyone for shepherding me, during the trek and at the rally.

Thank you for your friendships. True love for all.

Pee Wee

On behalf of us "armchair caravaners" thanks for the updates and photos.

Your thoughts for next year sound great. I'll be watching to see if we can make the calendar work. I'm thinking that's wine country - this could be the Aluminum Wine Tour...

Let us know when you need a grassy spot in Pittsburgh. The pleasure was clearly ours.

I got back home at 11pm, and I was beat! Was asleep by 11:30pm and was up for work at 7am this morning! I had a great time!

Rob you did a great time as Caravan leader! You made sure everyone was in the loop with what was going on, and that truly helped.

Frank, thank you so much for getting on the road an hour before everyone eles, and truly being a team player. You hard work allowed us to make with ease!

It was so great to meet many new friends along the way.

all home safe and sound..... I have to say the caravan was the best part of my two weeks. The stories that Dale shared with me were priceless. Do not worry Dale some of them will never leave my lips. What a priceless experience it was. even if the International was a disappointment for more than a few of us, we will always have the four days we were a family traveling together. Thank you all so much.

You can read a complete trip report on my blog linked below if you want.
