It's getting closer to the time to leave for the caravan trip. We will be staying at Pennwood Airstream park on Sunday and Monday night the 21st and 22nd.
It's a great park not far from Pittsburg where the caravan starts. Come on over if you have the time.
Boy it sounds like a great trip I only wish Jill and I could join you all. I feel like it is a once in a life time thing. Especially after Frank gets famous. I wish you all the safest of adventures. It sounds like you will be in good hands and have great fun.
Please, OH PLEASE take a lot of pictures and post them for us.

My wife says that I am a piece of work. I agree, I want to believe I am a MASTERPIECE.
Whoa there Nick, I never want to be famous. I strive to just be one of the guys. You should however come join us. You know you want to. Com'mon Nick all the cool guys are doing it, you won't get too addicted.
Frank how could you be more famous, your Frank from the VAP and travelling with Pee Wee. Everyone will want your autograph!!!
Comeon everyone, meet a true Airstream celeb.
I don't want to hijack this thread, but I am wondering if anyone has a good route mapped from the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart, IN to the International Rally in Madison, WI that avoids the approximately $40 in tolls that would need to be paid towing a tandem axle trailer over I-90 the whole way. Lorrie and I will not be on the caravan, but will be following in your footsteps from the Museum to Madison a few days after you.
Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,
I have taken the trip, and don't recomend going through Chicago. Too busy and expensive. Take I94 to I80 and north on I39 for the faster and cheaper way.
Whatever way you pick, stay out of Chicago with a trailer.
Rob is in charge, he just does not post here and a lot of our members do so I am covering this end. My job is wagon boss. We are starting from a Cracker Barrel at 200 Davis Blvd in Pittsburgh. You could take a right after Jefferson County Fairgrounds too. We appreciate the support Doug. Glad you are coming.
I'm attending a convention in Pittsburgh this week, have to head back to Virginia afterwards, but perhaps I will be able to drop in at the Cracker Barrel on my way home so I could at least share breakfast with the group. I noticed that will be the 23rd... Will some be arriving on the evening of the 22nd?

Paula, We are going to be sailing the same sea but at slightly different tides again. I sure hope we meet one of these days. Everyone is coming together in the late afternoon of the 23rd. Doug Rowbottom will be at Pennwood which is not too far away.

Thanks. I had considered that way, but wondered if there was a shorter route that used some non-expressways to cut the corner. For some reason MapQuest says this route takes an hour and 35 minutes longer than just staying on I-90 yet is is only 48 miles longer. The math does not add up. I am beginning to think that MapQuest driving times are woefully inaccurate.

I live just west of the Rv/Mh HOF in Elkhart, and you can avoid the toll road. Leave the Rv/Mh HOF and travel south ( turn left) on Co Rd 17 go south to US 20. Now go West to I-94 in IL. I don't remember if the I 94 is toll road or not, but US 20 is a good road that We use for our westerly travels to avoid the Indiana toll Road that has More than doubled the tolls in the past year!! If you travel US 20 west watch for SR 2 west! Take it and keep heading west it will turn back into US 20 west and will save about 25 minutes of drive time. I 94 Goes to Madison but it will take you though Chi town! Safe travels, Mike
Myself and another Metro NY member will be at jackson Center for some work on 23-25 June. Maybe we'll join you on the caravan.

Hopefully you will be done by then, if not you can catch up to us. But the more the merrier. Please by all means come along.
