I may be speaking too soon, but the site is back up this morning. We'll see for how long. (I'd still like to get my hands around the neck of the site adminitrator.)

I'm not slinging mud at the WBCCI! INdeed, my main ire is for the outfit hired by the WBCCI to be responsible for the site. They ought to be trussed up and quartered.

But that what it always turns into. If you go down the portal page, there are four WBCCI related threads floating right now and there is mud being slug in all of them. It gets tiring to see as someone who truly enjoys the club. I guess the AirForums is the alternative to the WBCCI and that is why it occurs so much here.

Now, now,

62,

Cut Lynn some slack. . . she is one of the most pro-WBCCI posters on the forum.

But Lynn. . . maybe drawing and quartering is a tad bit extreme for letting a web site go down. . .

A good kick in the pants should suffice.

And, in any case, how many times has Airforums been down in recent months!

Keep smiling,
Nuvi

Where's all this vocalization heading? Towards change! As grievious as it is to Pleasant Valley gladly paying their dues and having so much fun camping together, several years ago a mere whisper of discontent and constructive criticism and the notion of holding our fellow members in leadership accountable to reflect the desires and needs of the general membership brought charges (and still do on occassion) of the code of ethics. The norm was to fall in and only put forth a happy face at all costs which are in fact dear to many across the spectrum of the club in a quest for member rights and equality and representation. Why don't we all just sit down and be quiet, because the point remains that the collective member voice is not being heard and addressed with due dilligence and the keepers of the club are working toward membership dollars in the ill fated actions of name change and brand identity in opposition to the very core of consensus. Change should come from the members and units and not from initiatives of the leadership on its own for its own preservation. Are we short at times, you bet. Is it causing a stir from the humble murmuring, you bet. Will we see change some day, you bet. Until then there will always be those looking at the broader picture and harping and hawking, kicking and yelling. That is the sound of the WBCCI's life blood pulsing. Long live the club, don't let it go into oblivion or the way of the dinosaur.

Yes, and this is exactly what my reading of the 2020 Committee report calls for. They're not out for revolution, nor did they call for more complaints. (The complaints -- lots of them -- are contained in the Unit Survey Reports available on the WBCCI site; they formed the basis of the report.) What the commitee members called for, in my opinion, is member support toward the changes that they recommended. And I, for one, support those changes and wish to see that they are enacted as soon as feasible.

Yes, and the thing that is most interesting to me about this is that the Unit Survey--as opposed to the 2004 membership survey--was sent to Unit presidents. It is becoming increasingly clear to me that "the disconnect" is between the Unit and Region levels.

But it also looks to me like things are changing. Maybe not fast enough to suit some, but they are changing, mostly for the better. Thefact that these survey results are openly published on the WBCCI web site for all to see is just one example.

Cheers,
Nuvi

Well, one thing that didn't change is that the website is not accessible again this morning.
