And these Delegates just sit there and allow themselves to be cut off mid sentence while one individual carries out a personal vendetta.

Someone ought to nominate Fred Brugmans for a leadership position. At least he was not shouted down by the "supreme bully" when his unit asked him to make a point.

$15,000 ad budget? It will be interesting to see the club turnaround with those funds being spent. If it is an ad the likes of which appear in Airstream Life for WBCCI, good luck.
They spent $4000 for the BlueBeretOnline.com web site. I could have done that for $400, somebody is making money on the club.

Oh, really? So Leo is responsible for all the cease-and-desist letters from Dinsmore and Schohles sent to numerous WBCCI members, including the Birthday Bash crowd, etc.?

Instead of "Blame it on Rio", the EC seems to have adopted the policy of "Blame it on Leo".

I think the depth of self delusion the IBT and Tom Collier exhibit is boundless indeed! Blame Leo for $29,000 in lawyers fees but don't look at the losses they have been incurring - the losses Leo has been talking about for the last year! What is the REAL motive for getting Leo out of the club???

How much does a letter cost from IBT

A little birdie sent me this from Gillette

Legal Fees 2009 - 2010

Leo G. $20,000.00
Bylaws & Robert's Rules Review Phone Conferences
Final Appeal Process
Misuse of WBCCI Logo (SaveWally logo)
Grievance
Review Comments on Forum
Code of Ethics Review

Tim K. #17330 $ 900.00
Misuse of WBCCI Logo (one letter)

Rob B. $ 400.00
Trademark Infringement (one letter)

Howie E. #12156 $ 1,200.00
Improper Use of Email Addresses (one letter)

I think the lawyers threw in the cost of the stamps

That is a lot $$$ per hour for a smaller city law firm(s)

Interesting there is no legal fee for Tim's grievance about the forum?????

Rob complied

Howie ignored their interpretation of email requirements

The budget was based on 700 units. Members will be arriving this week, the best sense of the attendance is to have someone check the attendance board on Wednesday.

Code of Ethics Review

Bob,

Glad to hear you have a little birdie in Gillette.

Looking at the above list, I expect a lot of those hours were spent reviewing "comments on forum", most likely looking for something libelous. Unfortunately for the EC7, Leo hasn't said anything libelous, for the simple reason that truth is not libel. (At least in the US, where we still have freedom of speech.)

So for WBCCI purposes they had to rely on the "disharmony" clause of the Code of Ethics. (Just incorporated into the By Laws at the last Winter IBT. What a remarkable coincidence!) And that basically says that the EC can throw anybody out of the club for saying anything. In a real court I would expect it to be thrown out as "unconstitutionally vague and unenforceable".

Incidentally, notice that Save Wally also didn't comply with the Cyst and Decease letter so there are probably some hours in there for studying the trademark infringement case and advising WBCCI against proceeding with it.

Needless to say, all of these fees could have been avoided simply by leaving Leo alone. Blaming Leo for the costs of expelling him is about like an armed robber suing for his medical expenses because his victim had the temerity to shoot back.

So they charged the club $400 bucks an hour to read forums........

With unemployment at 10% that would be a rip off if true.

It seams they added several bylaws at the mid winter meeting and are now attempting to use them retroactively. To keep from seaming discriminatory when expelling ones spouse they added "Significant Other". Not sure that would hold up in court either

At this point in time there are 4 members and 75 Guests reading this thread. Now I accept that some Forum members may not be signed in and just reading but I would bet the over 65 of those Guests are members of the EC and IBT just checking in. Good Reading Fellows you might just learn something.

It seems that the entire dues of 308 members have been used to kick Leo out (and thats at the 65 rate) I suspect that this is far from the end of it either and nothing worthwhile has been accomplished. Wonder what (or if) these people are thinking

Maybe I should send and e mail out and see if there are 308 members, excluding the 3 digit types, who would ask to have their dues spent in that manner.

That doesn't even count the amount of dues lost from members that did not renew for 2010 or as stated at the recent IBT meeting from the delegate from Watchung New Jersey the 60 plus memberships that will not renew in 2011 directly because of of Leo's expulsion, and there will be more! And how about the expense of keeping this stance up against Leo in the future and the lawsuit against them? Tom Collier IP says in his president's address said it was all unfavorable. Well not only that, but pretty expensive too and continuing in the battle to silence members from speaking critically of the leadership and trying to hold them accountsable to the membership. And if you think it was only Leo they blocked, what changes have you seen the IBT approve that will allow mere members to have more recognition and control in running the club? By law changes, elections, nominations, caravans, fee increases all come to my mind as being stacked in favor of the current leadership. It seems they are bound and determined to take it with them so it matters little to them to spend it in hopes of preserving their privilege and perks no matter what it takes.

And what about combining the various grievance motions and taking it all out of the membership's and public eye and conducting business without discussion in closed door session? Is that a point of order?

In some locations, it would be a violation of Open Meeting Laws.

I accept this is an International Origination but to the best of my understanding it functions all most 100% of the time in the USA. Is there any LOCATION within the USA that it would not have been a violation of Open Meeting Laws? Huey Long is long gone but has far as the IBT is concerned his methods are still available to them in Louisianan. Just drop something in the Deduct Box, your dues increase, and you are in.

They have no respect for any regulation that interferes with the perpetuation of their free ride and ability to bully whom ever they want.
