WBCCI Question

Last week on this forum I say some information about joining the WBCCI after July 1 and it only costing $10 for a year and a half. Does anyone know what the procedure for doing this is? I can't find the thread that discussed this subject.

Dan,
You are ok on the year and a half term but not for $10. I think its more like $60. Check the WBCCI web, www.wbcci.org for further information.

I just went through this process.

If you buy a new trailer, AS sends WBCCI a copy of the "Certified Performance Checkout" sheet and WBCI sends you a special form for a free membership thru the end of 2003.

If you buy a used trailer, you have to provide WBCCI proof of transfer of ownership and the same process happens. This is a more recent perk than the new trailer membership

I just received my free membership card and numbers (#9632) somewhat belatedly because AS totally forgot to send the form to WBCCI and it was not until I started making phone calls that anything happened. AS had also forgotten to send the road service folks notice and I just now received that.

If you buy a new trailer and don't hear from WBCCI within a couple of weeks, then start digging.

You may also want to check out the Classic Caravan Club, a link to their website is on the Forums Airstream links page. Their dues are only $10.

Dan,
I didn't ask you whether you were a new first time Airstream owner or not. Obviously if you are new then you potentially may be able to join at no cost. The $10 issue may be regarding the local chapter dues. Some chapter's waive their side of the dues for new members who are purchasing their first Airstream, others may not, hence the $10 charge.

Hopfully that eliminates most of the issues.
