Simple poll for all WBCCI members AND prospective members.
You have heard the news that the WBCCI leadership is discussing the possibility of re-badging a THOR Class "A" motorhome as an Airstream. You can find details about this issue on these forums and at WBCCI's own web site (as well as SaveWally.org). Do you support the WBCCI's current plans to rebadge an SOB Class "A" motor home as an Airstream product.
A simple Yes or No will do. This is not a scientific poll, just an informal one.

I agree, even though I'm not a member, I think it's just plain foolish to have an Airstream club with mock Airstreams in it. Of course, I say this from the sidelines which doesn't carry much weight behind it.

OK, here is a quick look at it the way I see it right now.
WBCCI not so long ago said that AS MH were not allowed in the WBCCI. Long at last they were allowed as members. The Good 'Ol Boys buy them so they can show they are better than us, travel easier or what have you. Life is good. Airstream says, hey we are loosing money here, people want AS trailers so we are going to stop making MH. Good 'Ol Boys, Boo Hoo Hoo .
So what do they do, lets brand SOB as an Airstream, NOT, and all will be right again.
Is that what I'm reading?

You got it, the plan is to take units manufactured by Damon and Four Winds and put a silver metallic base color on it with other colors for graphics.
All selected models would remain "branded as they are now" (as in Mandalay) but would be labeled "Airstream Edition". The interior would be identical to the original models. These units would be sold and serviced by their manufacturer (not by Airstream). The units would be priced "slightly higher" than the non "Airstream Edition" versions.

Let me see if I have this right. rickandsandi thinks that because I have a motorhome I feel that I am better than others. I have been a member of WBCCI for 10 years and have never been told that I am an elitist. Being a retired truck-driver from Ky.just the opposite. I think that hurtfull in-general comments will do more to destroy this club than allowing Mandalay MH in.
Actually it's worse than that. They were hoping that Thor would brand something else as an AS -- Thor decided -- they won't do it! Go DICKY!!
So now for the slight of hand. They say they got Dicky to agree to marking some SOB's as "Airstream Editions." They won't be sold by or serviced by Airstream dealers because THEY'RE NOT AIRSTREAMS!
It's just a bald face lie but the clinks at the top perceive that's all they'll need to stay in power. Add acceptance for membership to include any "Airstream Editions" and poof -- they're in.
You would think our leaders would be smarter than this wouldn't you? Yet they're all down there in Perry right now hooting it up thinking they've saved their Royal Blue BUTTS. Their biggest concerns are how big can they get the graphics that say "Airstream Edition" and how small can they get the Thor Divisions to make their brand names on those MH's (Mandalay, Four Winds, Damon RV).
I think they're in for a surprise -- a BIG surprise. Win or lose this fight -- they're going to lose big time -- either way. Either they'll lose (again) the respect of many in the club for pulling another travesty on us all or they'll lose it in huge membership loses which will require raising dues and the start the death roll... I'm thinking Hindenburg...
I guess we should try and salvage this if we can...
WANTED: Retired individuals pulling Airstream Travel Trailers to run for Regional and International Office. Must believe in, and be willing to protect the very basics of the WBCCI Constitution. That includes protecting the 52 year old name of the club and protecting the minimal membership requirements that ONLY Airstream MANUFACTURED Product qualifies for membership.
Compensation: The best seats at all events, central parking, and an expense account for travel reimbursement. The satisfaction that you'll be operating in a rescue mode -- saving the club from its current leadership that is ignoring both the foundation on which the club was formed and the history and tradition that is continually celebrated as the oldest SELF-MANAGED SINGLE BRAND RV CLUB run by volunteers.
Prospective Candidates must be willing to run a grass roots campaign and in a hurry at that. Help is available to get the word out and collect votes that can be cast from the floor in Perry GA in June.
There's a very high percentage of current Perry GA occupants that need to be put out to pasture. I think one of those in Perry referred to themselves as 'old fossils' yesterday. I second the motion...
Let them take their AOAI and their Mandalay, Damon, and Four Wind Motorhomes and go off and start the Thor MDFOAI club. They can start at the top -- all 21 of them...
