As long as it is their home permanently or semipermanently parked an sob is okay. Traveling in it and bringing it to rallies was a no-no. Am I correct?

Yes, that is basically correct.

So they are covered. They can motel it at the rallies instead of parking in the Gold Row.

I will look forward to doing just that once I can stop worrying that someone is going to sell my club down the river while I am out having fun.

"Why can't we all just go camping?"

It sure would be pretty cool to have all one thousand Airstreams along the shore of one of the Great Lakes. I can see the bonfire now. Actually maybe Tim could setup an Airstream Special Edition Burning Man.

And fishing, lets all go fishing too while we're there, wouldn't that be fun?!

Yet I get the impression when the WBCCI meets next at Perry they will be conducting club business and not camping at this event. So maybe we should just go back to the issue of motions and check out the rally threads for just going camping.

We have been by going to Forums rallies and avoiding the camp in a parking lot and business meetings of WBCCI events. It will be tough to write a check for WBCCI membership next fall. All this talk of letting SOBs into WBCCI is giving me indigestion.

Thumbs down The poll

I've said it before, but if I haven't said it here NO.
When I first joined WBCCI we were voting on whether or not to allow B-vans and squarestream mohos in. For all the same reasons now being used to allow SOBs, the membership voted to accept anything made by Airstream. To quote a popular politician "if I had known then what I know now I wouldn't have voted for it". So I say not again!

While waiting to check in at Ft. Wilderness this past weekend, I noticed a Four Winds product sitting in the line near me and I wondered: If we allow all of the Four Winds Class A motor home models into the WBCCI so the septuagenarian IBT's can get new motor homes and stay in the club and in its leadership now, how long will it be before those same septuagenarians become octogenarians and can no longer handle the big Class A motor homes and want to change the constitution to allow the smaller Class C motor homes like the one sitting near me in the check-in line? After all, it was a Four Winds motor home...it was just a Class C in stead of a Class A. Wouldn't that be easier for an 80-something IBT member to handle than a great big Class A Mandalay? Won't it be just a matter of time until this is what we are debating? If we don't stop it now and make sure the IBT knows that we don't want any SOB's in the club, they will try to pull this one on us in just a few years.

Saw some great RV's at the O'hare show this last weekend. If I could get an Airstream edition sticker for a fifth wheel, maybe I would change my vote.

Why limit it to SOB motorhomes?

Just thinking.

If I had the money and the Airstream Edition sticker for a Provost, I'd consider changing my vote...only kidding.

I just happen to have a friend that is taking delivery in April of a new Prevost and he is going to let me put temporary "AS edition" decals on it for the international. I can't wait to pull up to the gate. We are also going to put a mandalay badge on my AS motorhome and see how that goes over.
What do you think?

Ahhhhhh, I do believe I detect a whiff of civil disobedience in the air. Are you and your friend really going to do this bfred? Publicity, documentation and organization are some of the key components of any good protest. That, and a really good reason to protest. Maybe you can lead a parade of motorhomes? That would be cool.

Oh if only I could be a fly on the hard sided Airstream wall!

Do post how it turns out. I'd love to see the look on the gate-keepers face when you pull up in that one.

Yes, we are serious about this. My friend also loves a good fight. He has to take his prevost to FL. a week after the international, so it works out.

Is there anyway you could get the media involved? It would be really great if there could be news crews there when you arrive to show the reaction of the WBCCI when you arrive and whether they let you guys in or not. You could let the media know it is a protest. That would whet their appetites.
