The suspense is killing me. Is that 1 for and 15 against or 7 for and 93 against? At This point numbers will give us more useful information. After the vote percentages will be more meaningful.

I have not been able to locate the posting of this year's Excel spreadsheet that has the official count for each unit on line, but the sheet does exist and is issued on June 1st. You might use the list from last year's counts as a guide.

I just heard that the MoHo motion failed by a vote of approximately 1/3 FOR and 2/3 AGAINST.
That's just about the same as the previous times it was brought to a vote.

Nice to hear that this is an Airstream only club at least for another year. Does anyone think that this will end the madness? I think not, I can see the same waste of time and resources continuing until the supporters die off.

The message was very clear from the units and their delegates. I can only hope this stays dormant for quite some time so that leadership at all levels can develop a strategic plan with which to engage and attract non-WBCCI Airstream owners to join our AIRSTREAM club.

Both Bob Wheeler and Justin stated that 50% of purchasers of new Airstreams are first time rv'ers. These buyers are a great opportunity for new members.

I wonder how many Members they just retained? They are so worried about retaining the 3 or 4 members that want a Prevost, you know those quality members, as opposed to the number of quanity mambers they did just retain.

I'm apparently a Bob/Justin statistic. First RV (and last I assume) is the Flying Cloud we bought this year and we immediately signed up for the WBCCI (before knowing any of the political shtuff) and have enjoyed a few rallies with some pretty great folks from New England.
I'm still a rookie but my $0.02 is that ANY Airstream product should be welcomed. Not all Thor products are Airstreams. There are Airstream motor homes that should be welcomed. A Prevost is, as Monty Python would say, "right out!" :-)
So says the rookie, WBCCI# 1649.

hey rookie #1649....you should be blissfully unaware and enjoy your beautiful Airstream. The club is open to all Airstream manufactured/branded products...I hope you continue to enjoy your rallies - my husband and I are now five year members and look forward to many many more.

Thanks Monah. Everyone who knows me knows I'm pretty much blissfully unaware of most things :-)
My wife and I are enjoying the hell out of our rookie year - learning a ton - and can't wait to be on the road!!!

The first time this popped up five years ago, I didn't renew my membership. The fact that it came up again tells me that the current leadership doesn't have a clue and is very much out of touch with the rank and file. Quite frankly, I don't think that they were capable of putting together a strategic plan if they were still pushing the MH issue.

Could be because they have no clue about the difference between policy, strategy, and tactics. IBT should set policy only, because policy is a top-management function. Also called the "vision statement." The WBCCI Constitution should set policy, but that's all. The way the constitution is written now, it lacks focus on policy, and tries to cover all levels.
Strategy is a plan for implementing a policy. That's a middle-management function. Also called the "mission statement." The WBCCI Bylaws should address this. As with the WBCCI Constitution, the Bylaws lack focus, and try to cover too many bases.
Tactics are plans for implementing a strategy. That's a lower-management function. WBCCI has no documents at this level that I'm aware of.
There is no level below that, except for the grunt-work by the rank-and-file of implementing the tactics.

Ah, I don't think the WBCCI leadership is permitted simply to turn down any proposal that's made bottom-up. I don't recall the details, but the club's constitution lays this all out.

Then we need a bottom-up proposal that limits the number of times the same issue can be brought up for a vote before it's dead forever, i.e. a "three strikes" rule.
Or if dead forever is too unpalatable, then at least require a five-year grace period before the issue can be brought up for another three strikes.
And the great thing is, if the "three strikes" rule itself is defeated three times, we'd still be able to keep bringing it up every year until it does eventually pass.
