Norm and the Exec Board interviewed & appointed the Committee members.
There were several other candidates.
The board was aware of my involvement with the defense fund etc.

Yet there was a public discrepancy with your explanation of Defend Wally, the withdrawal of the lawsuit and Norm's agreement for the exchange of a seat on this Revision Committee and Norm's letter refuting the entire matter as never happening. In light of Norm's countermanding his assured agreement with the Region Presidents over Forrest's amendment, also publicly, I think many people will now believe your statement over the IP and his letter disavowing Metro New York's announcement.

And yet you do not believe that there is reason for concern to approach this leadership's intiatives with trepidation?
There may be reason in any organization, but those decisions should not be based on hearsay, ask questions and get the facts.

Actually Bob I had asked you what the three changes were that the EC asked the revision committee to make that you mentioned in your post having to make.

Carol you're kinda intimating that we were pressured to make certain changes, we were not.

I'm not stating them.

Really how do you know that?
Before the vote in June every unit will have voted on it way before hand, the IBT can't influence that.

Will the MAL's be able to vote on the new constitution??
As it stands now no!

As a former MAL all my club info came from the BB so I think they are the least informed and would be willing to vote "yes" on the recommendation of the IBT.
Moot point they aren't voting.

So much for one vote one member, eh? MALs pay exactly same annual dues as "unit" members yet don't get a vote? Really a shame Heck, one more reason to join WDCU!

If we didn't already belong to the best unit in WBCCI and were MALs, I'd be joining a unit RIGHT NOW, at least until this screwy mess is voted upon.

"1M1V will not take effect until the New Constitution in voted on"

I think you are leaving one "key" step out of your statement (this maybe the dotted line part of one of your post).

It's got to "PASS" first! Or are you trying to tell us that the IBT/EC7 will make sure the "New Constitution" is going to happen no matter what the membership wants? Or does that matter? And don't twist this that I'm against 1M1V for I am not.

If the "New Constitution" is great as written and the members vote for it as worded, that's great!

But if "one word" is changed from the floor of the Delegates Meeting, have your Delegate "VOTE NO". A single word can change the meaning real quick. Should/Shall, May/Must, etc...

Have your Unit go over this document with a "fine tooth comb". If they don't understand somthing, asked someone. I would recommend "NOT" asking an IBT/EC7 member or someone from the Revision Committee how your Unit should vote. For that would be somewhat of a conflict of interest.

No one except Bob asked for member input!!!

Bob,
Why are you the only person out of the committee that asked for member input? The president's newsletter was simply an announcement. No information on how to provide input to any committee member.
Region 7, again, only an announcement. No invitation to the membership to provide input.

Looks to me like the people in charge really did not want member input.....

And why did Darryl Ewles resign at this time?

Lately we have not agreed on much, but on the point of if any single wood is amended by the IBT in the new Constitution from the floor it should be voted down. The Constitution should be enacted as originally presented.

A point you have missed is that the IBT did not ask for this constitution and it was not presented to the IBT. It was presented to the Ex Board. The IP formed the committee and the revisions was presented to the Ex Board, 7 members, not the IBT as a whole, 18 members.

For whatever it is worth, I provided 4 pages of 'input" to Dona Garner and asked her to distribute it to the committee. She obviously did so as I received e mail from a couple of the committee members.

While most of my suggestions were not unique and simply reflected the concerns of many,
they were for the most part addressed in the report read at the IBT meeting.

I am patiently waiting to read the final documents before forming an opinion.
I am also patiently waiting for Florida to get warmer.
Wonder which will happen first?

Sandy since I am active on the forums it was logical for me to do so, I discussed that issue before hand with the IP.

Tom S. & Kerry M. also posted in that thread.

It was also posted in that thread whom to contact, in a re-posted notice from the IP here post #98

Dona received info (not only from Rick) which was distributed to the committee, I summarized all the posts and distributed those as well.

To say we didn't want or seek input is factually false.

As far as Darryl Ewles resignation I was informed it was based on health issues.
