WBCCI membership #s

In today's snail mail came a letter from the Pres. of the Southern AZ Unit-4 of WBCCI apprising members of the "dissolving" of the unit--can't even get a quorum together to vote to dissolve.

To me this is sad, BUT I do understand the problems; there are too few people to serve as officers/do the work/keep the club "afloat".

My question is--are all the members back east? That's east of the Mississippi River ...... The WBCCI 2003 Directory is a pretty thick book????

One of you guys was trying to stimulate interest in WBCCI as I remember......

I just joined the Cleveland Unit this winter. Have been going to all the weekend dinner meets. We have quite a good time. We have folks ranging in age from the mid 30's up to 86, I think. I find it very enjoyable.

We're west of the Mississippi here in Denver with a very active unit. We attended the Regional Rally at Albuquerque this last fall and there were over 200 trailers in attendance from Region XI! So you may want to check out a couple of the other units in the Southwest.

Good luck!

Thank you for replying...embarassing to admit but we weren't much support to the unit; we still sub in the schools and just haven't made it to any of the activities....

I see in the Directory that the Denver unit is part of our same region. This year we only had to pay dues to the AZ unit 3 as we got a free year with International with the purchase of Vanna (Airstream's name).

I suspect that Tucson-Southern AZ- is/has mostly retired. Am wondering if we should pay for next year; I hate to have an Airstream and not have those numbers (WBCCI) and have the whole shmear and have the WBCCI #s mean something.

Going pretty strong here

I just drove in an hour ago from 8 days on the road attending the Region 9 Rally in Harlingen. We had over 230 Airstreams there and we had a terrific time. We had 19 Airstreams from our unit attending.

The club is gettinbg old anmd that is a shame since the relatively young folks there seemed to be having a great time.

I'm lucky to be in a unit that, slthough high in average numerical age, has a great time wherever and whenever we get together.

We had a younger couple that rolled their van and an almost new 25' Safari. They immediately went out and bought an Airstream motorhome so that they wouldn't beseparated from the friends they had made in the unit.
