A pollyannaish thought...
Airstream should grant this mc trailer honorary status as an actual Airstream including factory badging and a VIN ending in 001.
From there, you join WBCCI and get yourself over to New England to join us in some rallies

I am in complete agreement! That's a terrific idea.

If I am reading all the posts on this thread right, then the above quote is the only negative vote thus far. I vote for honorary status of thumper 001.

Back again after 8.588 km thru Germany, France, Andorra, Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar in sixteen days.
All the inhabitants of the peninsula, I met, loved the caravan.
Here the proof ! (shot in Gibraltar)
Second pic in Tarifa with view to Morocco
Last pic at the end of the Camino de Santiago in Cape Finisterre.

That is great.
Why not just write Thor and ask if they would let you but Airstream on it. You might just hit on someone with a little less starch in their shorts.

Don't provide too much information or Thor would copy it and claim they designed it and start selling at really inflated prices, like helium balloons.
Other than moving the cabinetry around and installing cheaper components, there has not been a great deal of innovation coming out of Jackson Center considering the giant leaps in technology even in the last ten years.
Airstreams still use 1940s vintage drum brakes and does not even balance the drums, although these brakes are now probably sourced from China along with the Goodyear tires.
I have towed an aerodynamic cargo trailer (Tailwind) behind my 2010 Honda Goldwing all over the United States and it is a neat way to travel.
You have done a great job fabricating a "one of" aluminum motorcycle towed trailer. Who knows, you might find a market for it here in the states.

whats in a name...
Ok, so you want to be an Airstream but you are not an Airstream.
Why not start your own wonderful trailer company. You have a good product, you could get your design copyrighted and on you would go. You would have your own niche.
I would bet there are a great many people that would be ready to purchase your product.
You probably have already thought of a great name for your trailer.
Good luck to you.

Thanks for that proposal, but it was Wally Byams idea, mine is only the half size and maybe better material.
I do not see the market to live from a production in that size.
Tried it with the axle and tongue, which are custom built for me.
But no response from the potential target audience, so it will stay an individual item.
But the little steeldrum has got named during my trip to "Calypso" !
