WBCCI, Gig Harbor WA, local chapter.

We have recently purchased a new 2012 25FB Flying Cloud. We recently received some promotional info in the mail asking us to join the WBCCI. We live in Gig Harbor WA. Is there a local chapter? If so I would like to hear from some members about rallys, events and experiences both good and bad.

Best,
Dan

The Washington Unit http://www.washingtonunitwbcci.org/ is the biggest unit in the WBCCI, being headquartered at an Airstream park, Land Yacht Harbor, located in Olympia, WA. Home

Your experience of WBCCI will vary greatly depending on what unit you affiliate with. I would suggest getting in touch with the Washington Unit and attending one or two of their activities as a guest to see what you think. As the largest unit in WBCCI, Washington Unit must be doing something right, so I predict that you will want to join. My unit gets most of our new members that way--they come to a rally, and they join up.

(We are members of the Wisconsin Unit, IMHO the best unit in the WBCCI, just not the biggest. )

Hi Dan, Welcome to the Airstream family. The WBCCI is a great organization and is a perfect way to enjoy your Airstream more. There are 2 units in Washington, the oldest is the Washington unit and the North Cascades is a smaller unit that is more casual, without a clubhouse. Both units have great people, check them out by going to a lunch or rally with the group. Both have web sites, so take a look. When you are a member of the WBCCI you can also go to any rally in the country ( Canada too). Come down to an Oregon unit rally, we have a great time. What I like about belonging to the WBCCI is the knowledge that you have friends you just haven't meet everywhere in the country and belonging to your local unit gets you out enjoying your Airstream even more. We will be retired soon and will head to a rally early, enjoy the quiet of camping, party with our unit during the rally then stay a day or 2 longer, head home or on to another rally. Since we've been working we have to do weekend rallies with days tacked on here and there, but it does remind us to get out and use our Airstream and not let work, chores, etc. take away our summer.

Hi Dan,
We live just up the road from you in Bremerton, but both grew up in the "Harbor".

We are members of the North Cascades Unit, www.ncascadewaairstreamclub.com The NC Unit's first rally this year is in April on Whidbey Island, and is a great place to go exploring the area. We won't be at that rally this year, as we are heading down to the Nor Cal rally in California. We attend other rallies (Air Forums, TCT, WBCCI) as we travel. The NC Unit holds most of it's rallies Everett northward, but has one in August on Hoods Canal.

We also go to a lot of British Columbia Unit rallies (affiliates) and the Oregon Unit. Both of those units are a lot of fun.
Hope to catch up with you, either at a rally, or out camping.
Take care,
Debbie & Dave
