WBCCI - Florida Chapters
In the process of moving (another but last job relocation) to South Florida. Actually gonna full time in my Landyacht at least till January while based at a marina/rv park in Ft. Lauderdale.
Any comments, suggestions, or recommendations for which Florida Chapter to join?

WBCCI Units in the State of Florida
Hi Mike,
There are eight units in the state of Florida. Seven of them are in Region 3: Big Bend Florida (153), Everglades Florida (028), Florida Airstream (027), Florida Springs (174), Florida Suncoast (129), Florida Treasure Coast (162), and South Florida (030). One of them is in Region 6: Pensacola Florida (029). If you are going to be located in south Florida and want a group nearby, I would eliminate 153, 174, and 029.
Now, I have friends in almost all the Florida units, so I don't want to recommend one over another. Check out their websites, read their latest newsletters, and decide if you like the group, what they do, and where they do it. My unit for example, has around 100 members from all over the state (30 of them actively participate in at least one event per year), we do most of our rallies in the Central Florida area from September to May.

I found the folks in the Florida unit very easy to talk to. That was a few years ago, though. I was a member of the springs unit, very good people.

Try Several!
If you are already a member of the WBCCI, you are welcome at rallies all over the country. Attend a few rallies and see which unit fits best. Everyone wins when you find the best fit!

Living on the east central FL coast, which unit would be closest to us, 71 Overlander, we have had "Sweet Thang" for about 4 months and just took her over 2000 miles, we found what needs to be fixed with trial and error. We need to pick you experienced vintage owners brains. Thanks

Hi Larry,
Most units have us vintage geeks in the ranks so finding a unit is more about activities and people then area. Check out the wbcci.org website, click on region 3 and click on the different units web site. I can't believe I know members in every Florida unit and I'm from Oregon. I know everyone would make you feel welcome in their unit and you would enjoy the club as much as we have.

You might also consider joining the Vintage Airstream club interclub of WBCCI, which is exclusively for Vintage trailers/moho's.
Here is their website: http://vintageairstreamclub.com/
There are lots of resources there, even if you do not join. Lots of information sharing.

I just joined WBAC, as it's now known by. I joined the Florida group as an associate, and the Florida Suncoast as a member. The Florida group has activities all year round I figured out, whereas the Suncoast group doesn't. I'll switch next year.

Which Florida Chapter should I join?
Our home is in Panama City but we travel mostly everywhere but Florida in the summer and fall with the Airstream... however we would like to get to know fellow AS fanatics and maybe do more winter activities with the airstream when we are home. Any suggestions?
Also - this is our second season owning the airstream and I am not sure if you are supposed to join multiple clubs for regions you go to?
Thanks for any advice

We are in PA most of the year but spend the winter in FL. So our primary Airstream Club is the Central PA Airstream Club (#164) and we are affiliate members of the Florida Airstream Club (#27).
There are several Florida Clubs but we have found this club to be very active and a fun group.
I hope that helps with your question.

We know many WBCCI members who have joined Southeastern Camping Unit (SECU) and are very happy. We recently saw several SECU members at another rally - great group!
