Being a member of WBCCI is more then just caravaning. When you join a local unit or be an affiliate member of another, it opens you up to an experience of mutual enjoyment of owning an Airstream and knowing others with the same passion of ownership. The numbers indentify you as a member and I think this is cool! Visit a rally in your area and see what I am talking about. The local members make the club!!

We have no local chapter or-
Our local chapter is "zone 6" that covers all of MS and TN and the events/ gatherings are from 4-10 hours from home...

I would be the only one in a 200 mile radius with red numbers-
Not much fellowship going on there...

Airforums and other non-WBCCI rallies and going to local campgrounds where we meet others who own Airstreams also give me mutual enjoyment and knowing others with Airstreams-
And don't ask for money...

I didn't realize the area that you live in is off the WBCCI Path.

I agree that there are Air Forums rallies and non WBCCI rallies, some of which my wife and friends have attended. They are wonderful rallies and give us all the opportunty to enjoy fellow Airstream owners enjoying our passion for Airstreams. Join, don't join just enjoy your Airstream. Numbers, no numbers really not the issue!

A reason not to

If you are into vintage trailers, the ghost numbers are hard to remove without polishing.....we have our numbers on a piece of Plexiglas. If we need them, we have them. Otherwise, we don't have them on our trailer. Don't think the forum numbers are as well known......I am known by my forum name.....which is on our license plate of the trailer......

Interesting that numbers or not can arouse this much controversy. Paula

A caravan did come through here about 4 years ago. I stopped and looked at all the pretty trailers.
Problem is- the caravan overnighted in the Civic Center parking lot.
Our civiv center is in the 'hood.
Maybe the planners didn't know the area.
I would hate to pay my money and stay in a place that ghetto and unsafe.
Point is- it is not practical to join while I still work.
If I ever retire (I may not be able to due to health insurance) joining WBCCI would make more sense because I could actually caravan and go to rallies and events. Right now I have too much on my plate and no time for caravaning.
