I added you to my book too, Kent!

I was trying to decode the numbers below my name's entry. It says U336(090). I know our Oregon Unit number is 090, but what does the U336 mean?

Sorry Greg it is 2 years membership lapse before the WBCCI number can be released. Thus July of 2007 it should be available - I would write a letter to HQ and have it on file if the number is that important to you.

As Leipper says they are on a manual style system - so things take a while and they probably face mounds of paper in that office

Hmmm, never been on any caravans, esp not in BC - I'd remember. Must have been someone who wrote their number down wrong.

We got ours. We are still members at large. If anyone on the forum who is in one of the local Missouri units wants to contact us about their activities, I'd like to hear. We are "unattached and unapproached" after a couple of years as M-L in WBCCI. We are probably too far from the center of unit activities. ~G

An Opportunity to say Thank You

Amongst all the contraversy these days I would like to take a break and publically thank the WBCCI HQ for their hard work in putting out yet another Membership Directory.

With all our messing about with changing our WBCCI# from #14535 to #1961 We still made it in the Directory and we made it into the Courtesy parking too.

Thanks Kathy - for your Patience!

PS. and go figure we are now keeping the MoonBeam and will need the 14535 number back again - of course unless #1969 comes available.

One last note. Call the WBCCI headquarters, phone number is on the website. Ask for Kathy. Treat her respectably as she is human and works hard at the system she has (she is not the one responsible for not having the latest tech). She will help you find out who had the numbers, and you can then contact them. Ask them to write Kathy a short note/letter giving their blessings on you having the number. She then will be able to assign it right then.

I just checked, you are not listed in the directory. Could it be because you own Chaplain Kent's former rig? :-)

I agree, this is hard and thankless work that these folks are doing for us and I think the Membership Directory is a great asset for our club. I *love* it when we are traveling down the road and see an Airstream with it's WBCCI numbers on it. I look it right up (when I'm not driving, of course) and mark down the date and location of my "sighting". Ok, I know some of you folks are thinking "get a life", but this *is* part of my life.

Michelle,
When we were on the Golden Anniversary Tour, we met a man in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia that had several spiral notebooks full of recordings of WBCCI 'sightings'. He grew up in an Airstream family, and at a young age, began to document each and evey time he saw one with numbers. Some, he had seen numerous times, some, with different owners, the numbers having been re-issued. We checked our number, and he had never seen it, but it is listed now!

Thank you for sharing this with me! Very cool!

I think I'm like my Dad, he loves birds (so do I) and he records every bird he sees on a little note pad he carries around in his shirt pocket. Then, being a gadget guy he goes home and enters it all on a spreadsheet so that we know the when and where of every bird sighting. I just have been marking the date/location of my Airstream Sightings in my WBCCI Membership Directory, I'm thinking the fellow in Nova Scotia has a better system and I may need to follow suit.

I guess I could find out his name and contact information if you really want to contact him on his system of recording. If I remember correctly, he had a double method with redundentcy.
