Colin - there's a thread in here somewhere titled "research by WBCCI number" where you can post the ghost number you have and find the history of it.

Your guess on the other info sounds reasonable to me but I can't say for sure...

Fishing for information on my 62.

So my Airstream does not say Overlander on it. My vin is 26TS0622. The inside has a custom galley and several grate designs embedded in sone of the cabinets, all original. Just curious about whether it is an overlander?

Can you show us a picture of the VIN plate? The first 2 numbers are 26 which would be feet (an overlander is 26 feet). The next digit should be the year which would be a 2 . The T stands for twin beds. The last three digits are the number off the line ie 622. You appear to have an extra 0. Late in 63 had the T first followed by the year so maybe your "s" is actually a 3?

Pictures help greatly!

It may not say Overlander and still be an Overlander since the CA plant didn't put ID name tags on for some of the years. My TradeWind doesn't say TradeWind on it and its a CA built unit.

There are some other very faint letters above this but really all we can make out is that one word ends in a D.
Hi Colin,
This is not really the correct thread for your question (it would be better in the thread titles "Research by WBCCI Number"), but I'll answer it anyway.

I agree that the ghost outlines of the WBCCI numbers are 3015. #3015 was first assigned in 1959 to Edward and Louise Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio. In the 1960 Directory, they are listed as having participated on caravan 23 - Mexico Winter 1960. That explains the "Mexico 60" wording you found. As for the "Colorado Springs 60" wording, that would refer to attendence at the 1960 WBCCI International Rally in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Not a caravan, but still a big event.

Edward and Louise Miller are last listing in the 1970 WBCCI Membership Directory, then in Lebanon, Ohio, and then listed for three caravans, 23 - Mexico Winter 1960, 28 - Eastern Canada Summer 1961, and 30 - Western Canada Summer 1962. Perhaps the "D" is from wording that proclaimed participation on one of the Canadian caravans.

Again, this is the wrong thread to ask this question, however 26TS0622 is valid for a 1962 26' Overlander built in California, but generally there were two S's, not just one S in the serial number (e.g. 26TSS0622):
26 = 26' Overlander
T = Twin Beds
SS (or S) = Built in Sante Fe Springs plant
0622 = production number (1962 began at 0554 and ended at 0728)

You are quoting the serial number format for an early 60's Ohio built Airstream. Early 60's California Airstreams used a different serial number format as noted above.

Still trying to figure out this forum stuff. Thank you for the info. Took number right off of title and certificate inside. No extra S and no #3...still wonder why this little overlander is so different inside.

Since it sounds so unique, can you post some pictures of the interior? I know I'd like to see, bet others would also.
