Is there some sort of loose listing of other 'Streamers around Cincinnati (southwest Ohio, southeast Indiana, Northern Kentucky)?
I've searched many threads and couldn't find any "group" around here. I got the phone numbers for the WBCCI units around here, but I'm also interested in just finding other local folks of the Airstreaming mindset. Whenever we go camping locally, we're usually the only Toaster in the park (and some of those parks are HUGE!).
Also, how do I trace the ownership of the WBCCI numbers that are currently on my camper (#16875)?
Thanks,
Pam

Hello Pam -- Glad to have you jumping right in to the mix on the Forums! I don't have an easy answer for you. I don't believe the software is configured to provide information by locale. You could cruise the Rally Calendar at the top of this page. An alternative view is at this link. Click on any rally listing to find out more info on attendees.

Did you camp at East Fork State Park? We were just there over the July 4th weekend. When, in August, are you going back? We don't have any trips planned for August, yet, and it's time.....

Pam-
We are just north of you in the sprinfield area. We usually hit several of the local state parks each summer. We have a '61 overlander. Our local WBCCI unit is fairly active, although we usually can't participate- we must still go to work everyday .....most of the other members don't.
East Fork State Park, near Batavia, is really nice, has water/elec hookups and some full hookups, a nice beach and it's HUGE!
There is a family-owned campground up north of Cincy in Lebanon called Cedarcreek Campground. About 50 slots, all full hookup. Backs up to a cemetary and a nature preserve, so the neighbors are quiet. Great place.
If you're interested in being in Cincy proper, Sharon Woods county park has camping sites, I think they're all water/elec only.
There is a great Indiana state park just north of Madison, but I can't remember what it's called offhand. We had a great time there, too, and you can explore Madison for the day.
Hope this helps, and hope to see you in your travels!
Pam
We're your closest Streaming neigbors so far in this thread. in lovely Mt Washington, which for you non-residents is an eastern Cincinnati neighborhood.
16' 2004 CCD, which has owned us since Nov 2005. In the area, we've camped at Stonelick Lake State Park (in Jan, we had the place to ourselves!), and at John Bryan State Park.
We really liked Stonelick - it's well-treed for an Ohio state park campground, the small lake is extremely pretty, and there's pleasant hiking in the area. John Bryan was just OK as campgrounds go, but its setting - the Little Miami river valley, and adjacent Clifton Gorge are some of the most beautiful places in Ohio.
So welcome Pam and give us a holler if you'd like.
Hi Jon -- Your mentioning the Little Miami made me Mapquest the location. My Air Force dad was stationed at Wright-Pat in Fairborn for the first 7 years of my life (though I was actually born in San Antone). Clifton Gorge? Never knew it existed. Now I can only wish... I do recall an early 1960s drive back to the area and a drive by the nascent Miami U campus.
Yeah, Clifton Gorge is really quite amazing, and not just for Ohio - any state would be proud to call it theirs. It's a mile-or-so long section of the upper end of the Little Miami's beatiful valley. It's upt to 75 feet deep, in places only about 15 feet wide, and carved straight down through the dolomite host rock by the river during the glacial melt. There are churning potholes and waterfalls, hanging tributary falls, and a southern remnant of northern white cedar - all remnants of the departing ice-age.
As a bonus, the town of Yellow Springs is adjacent. Home of one of the nation's two Antioch Universities, it is politically and culturally a committed little remnant of the 1960's in the middle of the more conservative part of a conservative midwestern state. Unique and resfreshing - a place that one can enjoy regardless of political views, IMO.
Oh yeah, and a large and lovely nature preserve, Glen Helen, is also adjacent, which contains the actual "yellow spring".
If you're ever in the area, well worth at least a day!
Hello Pam -- I'd like to correct myself. Research in old posts shows how to search members by state or other criteria. I would still suggest that rally attendees do want more interaction... Okay? We drove 600 miles to the Midwest Rally in June and made some great contacts, including Toasty's Dad posting in this thread.
How to:
Go to Members List
Click on "Search Members" (far right blue bar under page listing)
Click on "Advanced Search"
Select criteria, click on search now.
It is slightly quirky in one regard. My state's search criteria returned more than one page of results but at first I couldn't view the additional pages to see all 104 Minnesota members. The default is to display 50 members; you can set your own number at the bottom of the Advanced Search page.
Pam ,
We have some friends that work at Toyota and for a company picnic they rent KingsIsland for the day, thats the weekend we go,
That East Fork is one sweet Campground , we liked it very much, If you come down south (Ky), let me know !!!
