Sob at WBCCI park

The members that own an sob motorhome are able to go to a club park in it as long as they own an AS? If I renew my membership and buy an AS again, can I go to a member park in. My Avion? Jim

What brought this on? Some specific instance where you saw/heard about an SOB motorhome in a WBCCI-only park?

And are there even any members who own an SOB motorhome in addition to their Airstream?

I suspect that, if what you say is true, it's with a caveat; namely, it's "with permission." In other words, you'd only be able to do it if the folks who run the park know and like you, and/or they're feeling generous that day.

Officers of the club are now and have in the past bought part ownership in AS trailers in order to own sob motorhomes and stay members in the club. All I want to know is can they go to member parks in their sob motorhomes because they are members of that club. I could easily buy a title to a junk AS and join the club, but could I take my Avion to AS only parks? Jim

I see. My guess remains unchanged, then. Only if they know and like you.

But I suppose you could call them directly and ask; there aren't that many WBCCI-only parks. Tell them you're doing some trip planning (so they understand you're not committing to a stay) and tell them that your Airstream is unusable at the moment, but you'd like to stay at the park in your non-Airstream motorhome.

It seems that each "Airstream" park operates differently. For some you must be a WBCCI member, for some you only need to have an Airstream ( and probably be in it unless other arrangements are made)

In some your friends in an SOB can visit but usually you must be there also and there may be time limits.

Then there are the former Airstream only parks like TR, Paradise Park etc.

Best to call the park in question.

No grievance filed as far as I know. Just wondering if this is still going on and can I take advantage of it. Love top of Georgia, and would like to camp in my Avion as long as I am a club member. Anyone ever see a sob mh there? Jim

I don't have the park rules handy, but I believe the only time a non-Airstream can be in the park is during a buddy rally(last weekend) or there is a provision that if you break down and make it I to the park, you can stay until necessary repairs are made.

That's what I remember.

Sob at WBCCI park

I don't know whether this might apply, but before the Argosy travel trailers and motorhomes were permitted in the WBCCI, an enterprising member towed his 1960s Airstream Bambi behind an Argosy motorhome to gain entrance to the International Rally (this was in the early 1980s). I would guess that the same thing could happen with a Brand X Motorhome towing an Airstream travel trailer.

It could. WBCCI bylaws, Article IV, Section 10.

Having the big moho and the token Airstream for the rally has it's advantages. Think of the extra storage!

Yes, you can utilize all the areas of the motor home for storage, leaving the entire Airstream for living quarters.
